Welcome
Heathrow airport has grown over the years now to become the biggest principle airport servicing the UK and handles more international travellers than any other airport in the world. Heathrow airport is located just 24 km from the UK capitol London. From it’s humble beginnings in the 1930 Heathrow has grown to be the primary hub of both British Airways and Virgin Atlantic and 88 other airlines that fly to 170 destinations around the world. Currently consisting of four terminals and with plans a fifth just recently opened in March 2008, Heathrow has grown to a substantial size and transports 68 million passengers a year through its terminals.
Of course not all passengers use Heathrow as a hub to further destinations but arrive here to spend some time enjoying England. Many passengers choose car rental as the most convenient way of getting to see all that the UK England has to offer and with the substantial size of Heathrow there is no shortage of car rental operators ready to help you make the right choice for your journeys. All major car rental companies have desks in the terminals and cars at the ready for the start of your holiday though it is advisable to reserve in advance the car you want due to the high volume of demand.
Heathrow is easily accessible by the motorways M4 and A4 road for terminals 1,2 and 3 and the M25 motorway for terminal 4 and 5. The car parks where the rental cars are parked have frequent shuttle busses to take people to their vehicles.
